AVI. AVI is Microsoft’s 1992 video container. Old camcorder clips, screen captures and downloaded films still use it, often with MP3 or AC-3 audio inside.
MP3. MP3 throws away sound the ear is unlikely to notice, using a psychoacoustic model, so a song shrinks to roughly a tenth of its CD size.
