Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 30, 2025

1. Overview

At AudioKit, your privacy is our top priority. We've built our service with a "privacy-first" philosophy from the ground up. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our audio conversion and editing tools.

The Short Version:

We don't collect, store, or process your files on our servers. All audio processing happens entirely in your web browser using WebAssembly technology. Your files never leave your device.

2. Data Collection

2.1 Personal Information

We do not collect any personal information when you use our audio conversion and editing tools. You can use AudioKit completely anonymously without creating an account or providing any identifying information.

2.2 Files and Content

We do not upload, store, or have access to your files. When you select a file for conversion or editing:

  • The file remains on your local device
  • All processing occurs in your web browser using WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm)
  • The processed file is generated locally on your device
  • No data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers

2.3 Contact Form

If you use our contact form, we collect:

  • Your name (optional)
  • Your email address (to respond to your inquiry)
  • Your message content

This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with third parties or used for marketing purposes.

3. File Processing

3.1 Client-Side Processing

AudioKit uses FFmpeg.wasm, a WebAssembly port of the popular FFmpeg multimedia framework. This technology allows us to perform complex audio processing entirely within your web browser, without any server-side processing.

Here's how it works:

  1. You select a file from your device
  2. The file is loaded into your browser's memory
  3. FFmpeg.wasm processes the file locally using your device's CPU
  4. The output file is generated in your browser
  5. You download the result directly from your browser

3.2 No Server Uploads

Unlike traditional file conversion services that require uploading your files to a server, AudioKit performs all operations locally. This means:

  • Your files are never transmitted over the internet
  • We have no access to your file contents
  • Your files cannot be intercepted during transmission
  • No copies of your files are stored on any server

4. Third-Party Services

No Analytics or Tracking

We do NOT use Google Analytics, third-party tracking pixels, advertising cookies, session tracking, or fingerprinting. Your privacy is completely protected.

AudioKit uses the following third-party services:

4.1 Vercel (Hosting)

Our website is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser information, and request timestamps. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

4.2 FFmpeg.wasm CDN

We load the FFmpeg.wasm library from a CDN (Content Delivery Network) to provide faster loading times. The CDN may collect standard access logs. No personal data or file contents are transmitted to the CDN.

4.3 Email Service (Contact Form)

When you submit our contact form, your message is sent via an email service provider. Your email address and message content are transmitted securely and used only to respond to your inquiry.

5. Your Rights
